I’m a big fan of your 2015 book! I found the 2015 version 10 years ago at a local store, and it solved a problem for me. Back in the 90’s I had gone to a crab deck with friends and *had no idea* how to find it again. I found it in your book though (The Drift Inn) and much summer fun has ensued since then!! Each summer since then I’ve organized road trips with friends to go eat crabs and drink orange crushes. I’ve shared some photos below of my well-loved book and notes. I’ve noticed some of the places have closed or changed their menus, so I was really excited when I saw on Facebook that you have an update!!! I’m looking forward to trying some new places!!
Thanks so much for writing this book!
Cheers,
Stacey
We found the previous edition of the book several years ago, and it has led us to find many fun little spots to spend an afternoon on the water and relax a bit on the weekends. The trips to the western shore have become a favorite weekend 'getaway' for us, thanks to your book! Looking forward to seeing what's new in this edition and doing some more exploring!!
Thanks for doing this,
David
My husband Paul and I have a Catalina sailboat that we’ve been using to explore the Chesapeake Bay for the past couple of years and while we sometimes dine on the boat, listening to to the eagles chittering and reconnecting with nature, we also really enjoy discovering local restaurants near where we anchor. I was very excited to read the description of the Maryland Edition of Crab Decks & Tiki Bars of the Chesapeake Bay in yesterday’s email from Chesapeake Bay Media as it sounds like your book is a resource we will put to very good use as we continue to explore what the bay has to offer. I used the link to your website that was in the CBM article to order as soon as I finished reading the article lol. A cold drink, good food and a view of the bay are the exact qualities we look for!
Thank you for the work you and your wife put into compiling and writing it and making your wisdom available to the rest of us—
Jill
I found your book when I was googling places to eat crabs on the water in Maryland. I am planning an overnight trip for my husband's birthday next month and started reading your comments on several of the websites. When I saw that you were selling your newest book at the Annapolis Boat Show, I decided to quit googling and order one as a birthday gift. It's nice to have all the information in one place. Makes searching so much easier. Right now, I'm leaning toward Fisherman's Inn & Crab Deck in Grasonville, but I have to read about several other places before I make my final decision. Looking forward to new adventures in crab picking over the next few years.
Best wishes to you and Susan,
Carol and Lou
